All Licensed Mental Health Professionals are required to attend both days of the workshop to earn 6 Continuing Education credits. Please note there is not an option to attend 1 day for 3 CE credits. You must attend both days for full credit.

From the comfort of your own home, join Dr. David Rudd, Ph.D, author of "Brief Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention," as he presents an empirically validated CBT approach to suicide risk assessment. Dr. Rudd is the President of Psychology at the University of Memphis with clinical expertise in risk management. With the focus of hope as a core skill, Dr. Rudd will guide us in exploration of ongoing treatment strategies and how to identify risk factors with clients of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Gain the skills to effectively manage a crisis and establish an evidence-based safety plan with your clients. Dr. Rudd will provide a learning environment focused on the commitment to treatment and healing with practical tools, including coping cards and the guiding principle that recovery is possible.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants will recognize issues critical in the assessment, clinical management, and treatment of those at risk for suicide.

Participants will be able to assess risk in actively suicidal patients, differentiating acute and chronic risk.

Participants will be able to utilize a set of empirically validated interventions for clinical management of care.

Participants will be able to develop immediate, short and long-term treatment goals for patients with active suicide risk.

Online check in will be at 8:15am. Please login at 8:15am to make sure you are connected via video and audio and are able to view the course. You can then grab yourself a cup of coffee, breakfast, glass of water, etc. and return a few minutes before 8:30am. You must be logged in and viewing from 8:30am-11:30am to be eligible to receive CE credits. A Zoom Webinar link will be emailed to you prior to the presentation.
