My name is Dr. Michelle Carcel and I'm a clinical psychologist with a private practice in La Jolla, California. I am deeply honored to serve as the President of the San Diego Psychological Association. As a proud member since 2009, this organization holds a special place in my heart. I've met some of my dearest mentors and closest friends in the SDPA. I chose to serve as President to give back to the community that has supported me throughout my career. This year, my focus has been on expanding our continuing education opportunities that support mental health clinicians, including our upcoming Fall Conference, Beyond the Mirrors: Integrating Research and Clinical Applications in Eating Disorders, on October 10, 2026. We have already offered workshops on Immigration, AI and ethics, Trauma-Informed Guilt Reduction, and many other timely topics, with more to come. We are a strong community of psychologists and behavioral health professionals committed to supporting one another and enhancing the well-being of those we serve.
