The San Diego Psychological Association (SDPA) is a chapter of the California Psychological Association (CPA) and is affiliated with the American Psychological Association (APA).  

Members of SDPA include psychologists, students/post-docs in the field of psychology, professionals in affiliated fields, and friends in the community who are committed to promoting the profession of psychology and serving community mental health needs in the County of San Diego.

FAMILIES BELONG TOGETHER!

The Board of SDPA joins the APA in decrying the Trump Administration's new policy of separating immigrant parents and children who are detained while crossing the border. Psychological research clearly demonstrates the emotional stress to children separated from their parents and the role this trauma can play in the development of mental disorders long-term.  The Board of SDPA calls for immediate change in this shockingly inhumane immigration policy.
