Recover Me is a visual-performance-based production featuring a collection of narratives about mental health and mental illness performed by local artists from Cygnet Theatre, Diversionary Theatre, Blindspot Collective, MaArte Theatre Collective, Amigos del REP, TuYo Theatre and Friends of Recover Me.

This event takes place at the Lyceum Theatre in downtown San Diego on Monday, October 14.  There is an interactive pre-show gallery at 6:00 featuring mental health resources and artwork by local visual artists.  The 7:00 performance is followed by a guided talkback with licensed health care professionals. The goals of the Recover Me Project are to open up dialogue, destigmatize the negativity associated with mental illness making those affected feel less isolated, to create an awareness of the different types of mental illnesses and to empower the healing process to those affected and their family, friends and loved ones.

This project is unique in its nature in that it brings together local San Diego Theatres, directors and artists all in support of bringing an awareness to our San Diego community about mental health and mental illness giving a voice to all.
