The Academy for Professional Excellence presents Motivational Interviewing with Rosemarie Sachs, MS, MFT, Member of MINT.

Motivational Interviewing was originally developed to treat adults with substance abuse issues, and has since evolved into a counseling approach that applies to multiple fields. Motivational Interviewing emphasizes empathetic listening and techniques to empower client self-determination and positive action.

In this two session, 11-hour training, participants will learn the foundations of Motivational Interviewing and practice Motivational Interviewing techniques. Completion of this course qualifies for 11 hours of continuing education (CE) credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs.

Upon completion of this training, you will be able to:

·  Explain the principles and foundation of Motivational Interviewing 

·  Identify benefits of using MI with people receiving services 

·  Apply MI principles and techniques in treatment 

·  Integrate MI Techniques into your current practice
