Licensed Psychologist-Independent Contractor
Work Location:
In Person only
Rate of Pay: $1000-$1600/week
Job Location:
900 Canterbury Place, Suite 310-7, Escondido, CA 92025
COMPENSATION
Competitive per-exam compensation rates with the potential to make $1000-$1600 per week (with the successful completion of 10-16 one-hour exams per week). Payment is issued once per month for all submitted examinations that have been paid out by the VA the month prior. As an independent contractor (1099), there are no employee benefits, including employer taxes.
Job Requirements:
Are you a licensed psychologist looking to earn meaningful supplemental income while serving U.S. Veterans? We are recruiting qualified independent contractor psychologists to perform disability examinations on behalf of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
This is a part-time, in-person position, hiring for 2 days per week (Monday and Friday). We ask that examiners offer at least 5-8 hours of exam availability each day. Each appointment is a one-hour diagnostic exam with chart review and assessment documentation. There is no long-term client care or treatment planning involved. Simply bring your clinical expertise to a structured, documentation-focused exam that directly impacts Veterans' disability benefits determinations. Work from a well-appointed office in Escondido and earn competitive per-exam compensation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conduct disability examinations for U.S. Veterans
- Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)—standardized VA evaluation forms specific to mental health
- Accept exam appointments from our schedulers based on your preferred hours on Mondays and Fridays (minimum of 5-8 hours per day)
- Earn income per exam completed and submitted.
- Contribute directly to reducing the VA claims backlog and improving outcomes for Veterans.
Job Requirements:
- Must have graduated from an APA-accredited PsyD or PhD psychology program. No exceptions, as this is mandated by the VA.
- Active, unrestricted psychologist license.
- Fluent in English
- Have had at least 2 years of LICENSED experience with adults.
- Experience/knowledge of military/veteran population preferred but not required.
- Must maintain professional liability insurance.
- NPI (National Provider Identifier) number
- Comfortable with structured clinical documentation and web-based platforms
- You must be willing to schedule 10-16 exams per week as requested. Availability of appointments is based on the number of referrals provided by the VA; therefore, the number of evaluations per week is not guaranteed.
