Licensed Clinical Psychologist and/or Neuropsychologist
Flying Samaritans SDSU is a student-run non-profit that aims to provide underserved communities in Tijuana, Mexico, with free healthcare. We offer a range of healthcare services to our patients, including primary care, dental, and optometry services. We are excited to expand our impact by launching a series of support groups aimed at empowering our patients through education and support. We’re seeking a bilingual psychologist, therapist, or counselor who is passionate about community service and mental health advocacy to help lead these workshops. This is a unique volunteer opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of underserved populations in Tijuana, Mexico.
What We’re Looking For:
● Fluent in Spanish and comfortable leading and facilitating group discussions entirely in Spanish
● Must have a valid, non-expired passport or passport card
● Interested in leading 2-hour support group sessions based on the mental health needs of the community
● Licensed in one of the following fields:
○ Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT)
○ Counseling (LPC) with experience in mental health, marriage and family therapy, school counseling ○ Psychology (PsyD, PhD)
○ Social Work (MSW)
● Experience working with diverse populations and/or facilitating group therapy or support groups is preferred.
● Interest in supporting and mentoring student volunteers, including providing guidance and encouragement in a clinical or community setting ● Graduate students currently pursuing Masters/PhDs in Psychology and Social Work are also encouraged to apply

Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for mental health professionals passionate about supporting underserved communities and mentoring students pursuing careers in the mental health field.
In this role you will:
- Lead one mental health support group per month in Tijuana, Mexico.
- Collaborate with student volunteers to plan and facilitate each support group.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional insight to student volunteers involved in the support group.
- Offer input on the overall structure, organization, facilitation, and quality of the support group.
- Help foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for community members.
Job Requirements:

We believe clients should not have to choose between clinical expertise and a psychologist who understands the importance of culture, identity, and lived experience.
We seek a psychologist committed to social justice, cultural humility, and examining their own biases and privileges. Psychologists who are willing to work with children and adolescents, are multilingual, and trained in trauma treatment such as EMDR are strongly encouraged to apply.
