Opal Psychological, a boutique practice in the heart of La Jolla, is hiring Licensed Clinical Psychologists as 1099 independent contractors. We believe mental health care should honor the whole person — mind, body, and culture — and we built this practice so clinicians can focus on clinical work while we handle the rest.

Work Location: In Person and telehealth

Rate of Pay: 60% fee-split in your favor, with per-session pay ranging from approximately $75–$150 depending on payer mix. Potential to earn $90,000 - $150,000.

What We Offer:

  • Referrals to help you build and maintain a full caseload
  • Flexible scheduling and autonomy — your caseload grows on your own timeline
  • Hybrid flexibility: telehealth and/or in-person sessions
  • Beautiful, newly designed office space in La Jolla, blocks from the ocean
  • Full administrative support: scheduling, billing, insurance processing, and marketing
  • Opportunities for consultation, collaboration, and professional growth
  • Community outreach, advocacy, and wellness initiative involvement
  • A supportive, values-driven team culture

What We're Looking For:

  • Active California Psychologist license (or license-eligible within a short timeframe)
  • Experience with CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness-based interventions, CPT, CBT-I, or other empirically supported modalities
  • A commitment to inclusive, identity-affirming, culturally responsive care
  • Comfort with EHR systems, telehealth platforms, Google Workspace, and practice management software
  • Someone who values teamwork, consultation, and a positive, supportive culture

We work exclusively with adult clients, but you choose your own specialty and population focus — whether that's anxiety and burnout, trauma, couples, health psychology, or something else entirely.

Interested candidates should send a CV and brief letter of interest. We review applications on a rolling basis and aim to respond within one week.
